Start a Spring

Can we help you start a Spring?

From time to time, people in other towns and cities ask whether we’d be willing to share what we’ve learned along the way at Bristol Spring.

We hold what has grown here lightly, but we do have a desire to give it away where it’s helpful, so others can benefit without needing to start from scratch.

This page isn’t a blueprint or a model to copy. It’s simply an attempt to describe our heart, the framework that has emerged over time, and the kinds of conversations we would love to have so we can join in with whatever the Lord is already doing in and through you.

Keeping the main thing the main thing

The main thing is FRIENDSHIP

At the heart of Bristol Spring is a commitment to friendship, honesty, and shared discipleship in the realities of entrepreneurial and business life.

We prioritise deep, sincere friendships over programme because of our conviction that pastoral care flows naturally out of genuine friendship.

We take seriously the real pressures entrepreneurs, founders and business owners carry — uncertainty, risk, loneliness, responsibility — and create spaces where those realities can be named, prayed through, and carried together. We value mutual wisdom, generosity, and accountability,

Our Three-Legged Stool

First Friday Monthly Coffee Meetup

Our main community gathering, meeting on the first Friday morning of each month in a café. It’s intentionally low-agenda — coffee, conversation, friendship, and the chance to hear a little of one another’s stories.

Spring Deeper Burger & Pint nights

An evening gathering in a relaxed pub setting — burger or pizza, a pint, and someone sharing their story to help us go deeper in faith, life, and following Jesus as entrepreneurs.

Springboards

Intentional discipleship communities for entrepreneurs and business owners. These small, prayerful peer groups carry the weight and burden of leadership, providing space for honest conversation, wisdom, accountability, and support in both life and business. I would say these spaces are the highest impact and fruitful things we have done.

How did Bristol Spring come about?

Bristol Spring is not an organisation or strategy. It began with friendship, conversation, and a shared conviction that God cares deeply about entrepreneurs — not only what they believe, but how they live, lead, and build.

What started as informal coffee conversations grew, slowly and organically, into a wider community, Springboards (peer support groups), and regular gatherings. All of it has been shaped by a simple belief: following Jesus belongs at the centre of everyday work, not at the margins.

Want to Start Something Similar?

If you’re sensing a desire to gather Christian entrepreneurs locally, we’d love to help — not by necessarily replicating Bristol Spring, but by sharing and giving away everything what we’ve learned and walking alongside you.

Support might include:

• Helping you think through purpose and posture

• Sharing rhythms, frameworks, and pitfalls

• Offering prayer, encouragement, and occasional input

• Connecting you with others doing similar things

Our hope isn’t to reproduce Bristol Spring everywhere, but to see many local expressions emerge — rooted in friendship, faith, and the needs of their own place.

If you’d like to explore this further, we’d love to hear from you.
